The spiritual life of St. Mary's students is always first in
the school. From the daily morning prayer services to our celebrations of
our faith, the students are immersed in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
During the month of January, the students will be taking the Martin Luther King
pledge of peace. Mrs. Ward has reproduced copies of the pledge for the
students to sign. The pledge simply asks the students to work toward peace
in their homes and community. After the students have signed the pledge, the
papers will be displayed in the front hallway.
Catholic Schools Week is approaching rapidly. The student body will be
preparing for the Masses on the weekend of the 26th and 27th. The students
will be reading, greeting, and bringing up the gifts at those Masses.
The students will be creating bookmarks for the church library for those
parishioners who borrow books from the library. Never far from our prayers
and thoughts the student body will be making Valentine's Day cards for
Veterans and soldiers who are fighting for us.
On Wednesday, January 30th the students will be participating in a living
rosary at 9am in the school's gym. Please join us for this hour of prayer.
We close Catholic Schools Week with our First Friday Mass on February 1
at 9am.This Mass is being prepared by our third graders who are very excited
about planning their Mass. After this Mass the students will receive their
certificates for honor roll and attendance. Please come and join us!
