In religion the sixth graders are continuing their study of the Old Testament. Currently we are studying the Book of Exodus and have created a Jesse Tree, which gives the genealogy of Jesus. Groups are creating projects in class to tell the story of Moses and the Israelites. Some children are creating the burning bush and others are depicting the 10 plagues, the struggle between God and the pharaoh. The parting of the Red Sea and the pharaoh’s chariot will be some of our creations. As you can see, we are having fun and learning at the same time! We also have become buddies to the third graders helping to make Christmas cards for senior citizens at St. Francis. By learning about God and putting our faith into action, we are growing closer to him and know that by Christmas time, we will be ready to welcome our Savior, Jesus Christ.
