St. Mary’s Prep Home & School Association provides an interactive relationship between the home and school. All parents are part of the Home and School Association. Many successful financial, social and enrichment programs have been sponsored so as to benefit our students. To continue its success, full cooperation and support of all parents is essential. This can be accomplished by attending all Home and School general meetings and by active participation in fundraising projects. Although fundraising is a major function of the Home and School Association, this group also works to enhance the learning experiences of the students and to build community. The Home and School Association exists to:
Encourage communication and collaboration.
Encourage parents’ participation and involvement in the total life of the school.
Advocate for Catholic school education.
Nourish the spiritual development of the total school community.
Promote all school-sponsored activities.
Cultivate traditional and non-traditional sources of funding to meet the financial and physical resource needs of the school.
Provide an opportunity for parents to become acquainted with one another.
The St. Mary’s Prep Home and School Association (HSA) is run by a Board that consists of a President, two Vice Presidents, a Treasurer, and a Secretary. These are volunteer positions, filled by parents/guardians. The purpose of the HSA is to organize fundraising events to ensure SMP meets its financial obligations, provides the school with the skills and talent of the parents in volunteer service, and organizes social activities for the parents and students.
HSA offers a great opportunity for parents to become acquainted with each other through the many fundraising and volunteer events. Not only will you be providing an invaluable service to our school and its children, but it’s also a way to have fun at the same time.
There are three HSA meetings held during the school year, and you are encouraged to attend all three meetings so you will be aware of everything that is happening at SMP. Meetings are held in the church at 7:00 p.m. (see calendar of dates)
