Math

All classes completed diagnostic tests in January that were based on
standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics for their
grade levels. Plans for the remainder of the 2007-8 year are based on the
results of these tests.
Sixth Grade is studying functions and equations as the first semester
ends. After completing this chapter they will focus on data, statistics,
and graphs; then measurement systems, geometry, perimeter/area/volume,
ratios and proportions, percents, and (time permitting) probability.
Seventh Grade will move from ratios and proportions to a review of
operations with fractions, data analysis and statistics, percents and
decimals, and introductions to geometry, algebra, and probability.
Eighth Grade, now completing a refresher on rational numbers and percents,
will move next to data and graphs, then number theory, geometry and
measurement, linear equations, and polynomials.
