6th Grade

Grade 6---In religion class the students are being encouraged to offer help in difficult situations. They understand that we must work with God to bring His grace to others. In language arts class, we are finishing up a unit on the concept of verbs. We will soon begin a unit that consists of speaking, thinking, and composition skills that prepare students for writing a story.


Grade 7 language arts-Seventh graders are learning the writing process for writing a persuasive letter. At the end of this unit, students will complete their own persuasive letters and share them with others.

Grade 8 language arts-Eighth graders will be working on a poetry unit. We will be discussing what poetry is and the elements of poetry. Terms we will be discussing include alliteration, onomatopoeia, similes, and metaphors.
