5th Grade

In math we are now adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. We have begun our research reports in language arts. We made our outlines and we just started taking notes on index cards. Our social studies lessons will focus on the Constitution and the early United States. In religion we are learning about different kinds of prayer.

Congratulations to Alicia DeLuna in fifth grade. On Saturday, March 7, Alicia competed in the North Jersey Spelling Bee at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack. She competed against other schools from Bergen, Morris, and Passaic counties. This bee is sponsored by The Record and The Herald News. Alicia competed successfully up until the next to last round. Alicia can be very proud of a job well done. She did a wonderful job in representing St. Mary Prep.
