First graders welcomed spring with an Easter basket filled with Easter symbol eggs. In each basket was a candle, a cross, a butterfly, a flower and a baby chick. The children typed the meaning of each symbol in computer class. Each one reminds us of Jesus!
We have been learning algebra in math. First graders can subtract using ten. For example, instead 17-9=8 we say 10+7-9=8.
The children critically think through this strategy for finding the difference.
Weather, seasons and birds will be the topics that will take us into May. We will be using stories found on educational web sites to enhance our learning.
